immigration issues overall

ICU’s falsehoods aside, no one has advocated or allowed an open border policy. It's difficult to have an intelligent discussion with people that have very little understanding of the facts, such as Ace, Oil, ICU and others. They apparently watch Fox, OAN and Newsmax and believe they are provided factual and truthful information rather than opinion all day.

It would be good for them to volunteer to spend some time at the border, so they could see the actual situation.

So we’re sending folks that were mostly brought to the US as little kids back to a country they likely have no recollection of? Most DACA people didn’t as 3-7 year olds leave their homes in Central America and travel to the US on their own accord. Most have been in the US for as long as they can remember. They were educated here and worked and paid taxes. Some have fought in the military for the US. Those are the ones you want to round up and send back to Central America? That’s why republican policies will never pass. Originally Posted by 1blackman1

I would definitely agree that in recent history neither party has really DONE much to resolve the immigration issues we face and the toll they take on all involved is one that could be much more destructive that we see currently if we continue to put border security and illegals running around unchecked on the back burner.

Part of the issue continues to be that every 4-8 years we as a people say 'fuck it' and decide to switch gears which often negates whatever progress has been made anyway. We continue to believe voting one way or the other allows for the possibility of better government. Not much evidence of this being true currently

And I also am not claiming we have open borders.

It's pretty clear that one party has perpetuated the problems at the border while one party has at least tried to negotiate a solution.

I did not claim it is an open border. Others did, in the comfort of their arm chair, and as a political statement.

They need to see it for themselves.

Tell this to the people who live there and try and make a living farming and ranching in the area that there is not a open border issue and watch how fast you get laughed back to city life.

Whatever formal policy the current administration has on limiting entry by citizens of other nations, it is not effective in curtailing the on-going, every day influx of people from about anywhere by the thousands daily.
