Renting In Houston

Besides using har and a few other sites listed, I also drove around the area I liked on my spare time. I was able to find a great place that wasn't listed anywhere yet and got it. Just a suggestion. Originally Posted by cmouse45

Fsbo
Vrbo
Airbnb

Just like everything else, Houston is a bit behind other cities for these sites, but it covers most everything that doesn't have an mls listing. Of course, there's always craigslist and backpage for rentals as well. Originally Posted by Chrisrock

You can do internet search all day but getting hands on look always best approach.

Zillow is good, HAR can be limited but it is a great resource and the greensheet website can have some, depending on the area you'd like to live in

HAR has actual listings (MLS listings) by Realtors. Realtor.com gets its information from HAR.

Zillow/Trulia/Postlets feed off of HAR and they also allow home owners to put their houses up for rent for free on there.

Estimated monthly rent of a house is 1% of the value of the house, so lets say a house cost $200,000 in the northside/champions area, then expect to pay for rent $2,000 with one month deposit and non-refundable background/credit score check.
