I used to have an SO that would go on for HOURS every single time we made love, literally hours, and damn if it wasn't tedious! I am not talking about position changes, I am saying one position for hours straight. Funny coincidence, he was a porn addict, watching hours at a time multiple times a week. I think all of that porn skewed his sense of reality as to what was expected out of an average lovemaking session.
NOW DON'T GET ME WRONG! I love me some sex! Now, once or twice a month a good two or three hour long sex-a-thon is fun! It's just that I wouldn't want every instance of intercourse to last hours.
Personally, my opinion, when you add in all the other things like foreplay, oral, position changes, little periods of rest and conversation, and multiple O's, something like 45 to 90 minutes is reasonable for an "everyday" encounter. Probably only about 15 to 30 minutes of that would be actual intercourse. Maybe that's why an hour is the optimal amount of time for a hobby session!
