Great season for the Astros. And the team is really young. The only worry I see going forward is the pitching, both starting and relieving. But that is a worry for another day. Congratulations to the team and all the long-suffering fans.
Agreed SpeedRacer, I'm amazed we were able to beat both the Dodgers and Yankees pitching staffs, Hinch did an fantastic job managing the Astros pitchers ..... but now that they've won it I'm afraid they will think "well we won it, so it's okay to stay with what we have" ..... Jake Arrieta as played out his contract with the Cubs and I'd salivate if the Astros got him, what a great 1-2-3 starting rotation that would be, yet I seriously doubt Crane will be willing to spend the money Arrieta will probably demand .....and last but not least, I hope it's plainly clear to them now that Ken Giles is NOT the answer as their closer .....
Starting pitching is as good as it gets. They've got 6 legit starters. Relief pitching needs help, but they've got a couple of relievers who were not healthy or ready to pitch this year.
Actually, the Red Sox had a pretty stout pitching staff too, and the Astros kicked the shit out of them... roughing up the untouchable Chris Sale twice.
I see them making a trade of some sort to get a top relief pitcher in the off season.
