Equally bad news. You take your axe out of the country, you have to PROVE that it's legal when you come back in. Now I'm not planning on going anywhere with my SG Custom, but what a bitch that would be. I can't find anything on the sucker that says it was made in 1968, but since I bought it in 1974, I think it's legal, right?

Fender is now having it's fret boards planed out in Viet Nam, but it's nothing more than cutting them to rough size and curve. Makes them legal.

When will mother of pearl be illegal? And mahogany? Les Pauls are made out of a lot of it. I think that 12 to 13 pound double neck is, too. I can't see how John McLaughlin can wear one for a 90 minute show!
