Ok, I have to ask. WHAT is a WECK ? Or more specifically, Beef on a weck?

I am REAL BRIGHT and can figure out the Wings ( Buffalo or otherwise).

And a "pair of White hots" ?

And , naturally, a " garbage plate"??

Down here we have "trash" which is shrimp and a shredded, spiced crab meat.

LOTS of "language" differences. I guess my poor brain is just " chicken fried!"

Garbage plate loks like it came from the back of the truck ...beans, mac salad, hot sauce, hots or burger all piled on a plate.

Kummelweck rolls are funny though. You have to use them when they are fresh. If they sit too long, the salt sucks all of the moisture out of them and they turn hard as a rock in short time. Fortunately we don't have to make them around here. They are plentiful in our grocery stores and bakeries.
