Aetna CEO: Obamacare 'cannot be repealed, period'

Group health insurance is quite profitable. The insurance risk pools are balanced for that market. Originally Posted by flghtr65

It doesn't have a damn thing to do with the carrier "balancing" or "manipulating" the "pool" or the coverage. They can slightly increase the premiums across the board from many sources without losing much business, if any at all. That's how ObaminableCare failed.

A risk pool of 50,000 employees is going to be balanced (most of the employee's working for company ABC are healthy and low risk). In the individual market you have many high risk applicants, the same people who were denied the opportunity to purchase health insurance prior to the ACA law being passed because they had a pre-existing condition or were "already" sick. With group health insurance, the insurance provider enjoys a balanced risk pool without doing any manipulation. With Group health insurance premiums collected will exceed claims paid out. More healthy people in the risk pool, especially the larger the company.

The only reason Aetna would agree to abolish ObamaCare would be if they ran out of warehouses in which to keep all money they are making.

The only remarkable thing about the Aetna "news" is how much money the CEO raked in while Aetna was involved in the health care business with government support.

I used to have Aetna. I'm familiar from that time period "how they paid claims" and that was before they were supplemented by the Government.

When the swamp gets drained the "bodies" will be exposed.

That's the reason for the fake news, "trumped" up collusion bullshit, and "investigations" of thin air. To create confusion. Keep them busy so the don't peel the onion.

A bank examiner told me a long time ago the sign of embezzlement was confusion in the paperwork. Which by the way is why there is a mandatory vacation for the "money handlers" of two weeks, because that was about how long it took for the "paperwork" to "surface" for reconciliation ... today it doesn't take so long.
