Freedom of the press?

Of course the GOP can do whatever they want. I can't see where it is in their best interest--unless they believe those networks will do them more harm than good in the coverage. But in that case, why wouldn't the GOP shut them out--Hillary film or not?

The reality is both parties LOVE freedom of speech when it shows them in a good light (or their opponents in a bad one), but find all sorts of excuses when they don't like "free" press being free.

Obama was wrong, and the GOP is wrong. I'm still waiting for the first poster on here to condemn BOTH for doing the same essential thing. If you don't think every president since JFK has seriously spun the press then you haven't been looking.

But I will admit that the REPs are being pretty high-handed about this one, and if I was a DEM sleaze-spinner I'd have a field day with it whether it goes through or not. A whole series of adds based upon how the GOP brass tried to intimidate and censor the press, how they are scared of the truth, how they want to go back to the era of back room political deals in secret. Politics isn't about truth and reality any more, it's about the better spin and half truths--and this one will come back to bite the REPs big time. Pretty dumb move.

Revisionism is not unique to the Right or the Left, CNN/CBS or Fox, the New York Times or the Washington Times. If one finds the perspective of one of the above unpalatable there is that remote control that allows an on/off option and also has a channel selector. If the GOP doesn't want CNN or CBS to air/host their events that's the decision of the GOP. This is not complicated.

Given Odumbo's blatant, documented trangressions against certain members of the press, you're a moronic, ignorant fuck for even starting this thread, CBJ7.

It can pick and choose who is allowed access: just like Odumbo did last week when he denied admission to a group of College Republicans at the University of Central Missouri. By your reckoning, Odumbo violated their right to assemble under the First Amendment.
