The whole concept of a "hate crime" somehow making the actions of mugging, rape, murder somehow worse is one of the stupidest things we have done legally. Prosecute the actions, leave the thought process to god in most cases.

Agree, but it is far easier to figure out what someone should have said/how they should have worded it in retrospect. We have lost all sense of proportion when dissecting what a person said to seven levels of mystic meaning. Some things are wrong, some are dumb, some are carelessly worded--but only a few are reprehensible. We seem unable to tell the difference in too many cases. I would put Dylan's in the "dumb" category--and when a folk singer from the Woodstock era says something dumb, it is hardly worth noticing. Originally Posted by Old-T
