The meter is still running with or without the shutdown - since the statists voted 407-0 to grant back pay. I'm sure they (non essential govt. employees) are loving the paid vacation, and at this point, want the shutdown to go on forever. They will probably demand overtime to catch up on their "work".

Chefnerd, we go thru raising the debt ceiling every 5-10 months. Even if both parties agree to kick the can down the road for another 6 months, why do you think this will be a "return to sanity?"
