Hispanic TV Host Get Fired For Derogatory Remark About First Lady

AMEN, UC.

Nobody violated his right to speak freely. He violated the terms of his contract, or they would not have been able to fire him.

The howler monkeys want it both ways. The fucking constitution says nothing about that.
The funny thing about all of this is this character Rodner Figueroa is a Hispanic, Gay, fashion expert, and probably was really making a statement about fashion, not Race. He showed by repeating it that he didn't know what the big deal was.

He doesn't see black, white, brown, red, or any other racial overtone. All he sees is a hideously dressed woman who deserved his scorn for that reason, and none other.

Somewhere, Jimmy the Greek is laughing his ass off.

This is one case where I think our zest to pounce on anything "racial" might have been proven the fartherest thing from the truth.

By the way. One of my young Machinist, 27 years old, is Hispanic, and gay. He even brought his "partner" to our annual Christmas Dinner. He shows up on time, works hard, and does a good job. That is good enough for me.

You, like so many of your ilk, are under the impression that the first amendment gives you the right to say whatever you want AND frees you from any backlash from said statements. WRONG. He enjoyed his free speech. He said what he said. He is now reaping the rewards of living in a civilized society where such things have become unacceptable. He certainly has the right to say whatever he wishes. His employer also has the right to fire him. I'm sure there are clauses in his contract and the contract of any tv personality that provide for such actions. And your lame attempt at defending the man is pitiful. He was made up to look like the First Lady and the man commented on it, by extension commenting on the First Lady. Originally Posted by UnderConstruction

Will the real Michelle please stand up?
I'm spouting gibberish? You had no response to my point because it was right. You are very free to say what you wish. You are also free to suffer for it. FWIW I think she's an attractive woman.

Why the fuck does it matter that the anchor was Hispanic?

Or that YOU have a gay machinist?

Are you trying to prove that you're down with La Raza? So everything's cool?

I don't believe he is referring to "equality" for the Idiot Klan, errr Clan members.
No, he wasn't . He was clearly talking about Mrs. Obama. I guess he then tried to fix it up. Whether true or not, what he said was distasteful. He has since apologized publicly. I think his punishment was harsh, but at the same time Univision does not Share his opinion of her, and he may have hit a soft spot of the Univision execs, not on Obama. I'm sure she couldn't care less.

I think that was his mistake. He said he did nothing wrong....and then he apologized for something "he hadn't done". Funny how the left always used the CHARGE of racism to shut down the argument even where there is none. As I started on this topic, the left really hates free speech or even the appearance of free speech.
