We have a new POPE!

What we get from all the commentators is the normal sex obsession.

We get things like 'he is socially liberal, but doctrinally conservative'.

The catholic commentator then goes on to say 'the core doctrines of the church are to do with abortion, homosexuality, euthenasia, promiscuity, contraception, bla bla bla'

about which Jesus and the new testament says not a single word (there's a challenge for you, OH, I'm sure you will find something somewhere!).

These are not core doctrines, the core doctrines are about love, charity, incarnation, resurrection, forgiveness.

So the catholic church is going to continue to appear in the media mainly as a cult to fight gays and contraception.

And they are surprised why they are held in contempt, or at minimum in irrelevance, by many in the west?

I don't think priestly celibacy is going to disappear any time soon.

I think this guy is probably a very cool and caring guy, who will show leadership by example, but when will the church divest itself of this sex obsession?

p.s. when there was that tragic fire in Argentina Buenos Aires a few years ago, he was one of the first on the scene, apparently.

First non-European pope as well. We'll see how well he does - I haven't done any research on his history but I'm sure there will be plenty available tomorrow. Originally Posted by jbravo_123

My understanding is that the first round they all voted for Obama and had a really big laugh.
That led to a few more practical jokes, those cardinals are such a hoot.
The only one that wasn't laughing was the dude from Africa......... Originally Posted by The2Dogs

Stick, you non-hacker, go fuck yourself! You have failed to demonstrate why you should be allowed to breath. Go to a Tea party rally and see all the veterans. They had a Tea party rally at the legends ball park and they asked the veterans to come down for recognition. About 50 of us went down on the field but the candidate for Congress couldn't make it too fast. He only had one leg from his time in Afghanistan as a Marine. So go fuck yourself.
