My sister loves these:

Vacuum packed at HEB grocery (also Central Market grocery in DFW metroplex)

Also, Opa's sausage is amazing! Many different flavors/varieties. Also vacuum packed, should travel well on a flight.

I've been picking this brand of cheese/jalapeno sausage up for years (grabbing approx. 10-12 packs and putting them on ice for the trip home when I make a Dallas-Austin and back run....usually pit stopping @ The Czech Stop in West on I-35, north of Waco).

Grilled or slow-smoked (with Pecan Wood, my fave) in tandem with chicken or salmon, this sausage goes quickly whether you're serving to family or a large group. It is simply The Best, hands down.

Ze...dry ice pack several sealed bags of these when you go back to wherever and you'll be a hit, I promise.

Love and War's Terlingua Ten Pepper Buffalo Chili is pretty good. Buy some, freeze it, take it with you.

I keep making visits down to Texas, but I never have anything good to bring back with me for my PNW friends.

Are there any snacks/foods that I can bring back? I mean, Dr Pepper is kinda a Texas thang.. but it doesn't really scream local flavor...

Also, bbq doesn't really travel well. Originally Posted by ~Ze~

Mi cocina sells their salsa in jars now. Texmex salsa is the best!
