Suspicious provider

So today Tarrant County DA contacted me. Said they had found this girl being trafficked and had my texts. Any advice? Originally Posted by silksmooth

how did this "DA" person contact you? via phone call on the phone you had texted the provider, via texts on the phone you had texted the provider, via email, via smoke signals??
after that person said that the woman was being trafficked and that they had your texts, what else did they communicate?

regardless, DO NOT REPLY, not even a "who is this?".
and if it's a burner phone, recycle it and get a new one.

Yeah didn't sound like a scam. Sounded like a fishing expedition to me. Number definitely goes to Tarrant County. Haven't heard anything since.

Did you read the article? It’s almost definitely the scam to which I referred. They’re spoofing the DA’s office phone number, so if you called back or did a reverse search it would seem legitimate.
DA Offices do have LEO investigators.

Yeah I read the scam, they didn't ask for money though of any sort.
