It's not quite WWII era, but I did pick up a book called 'Brothels, Bordellos, and Bad Girls: Prostitution in Colorado, 1860-1930'. I haven't sat down and read the whole thing (due to a big backlog of books) but it looks very intriguing.

You have to remember to look at these photos in the context of the era they were taken in and not the current vain false image standards we have now. If you look at the risque photos of Betty Page, Marlene Detrich, Marilyn Monroe who were all considered pretty hot looking in their day. They would be considered "average looking" or worse and not make it in the door now.
