not so. Plant was in "Band of Joy" with his friend John Henry Bonham .. they were virtual unknowns when Page and JP Jones who did have extensive studio musician experience got a "lead" to go see them. the rest as they say is history.


Page was in fact one of the most sought after studio guitarists of the day.
