For most it was a business decision. Peter Lorre (a Jew), Marlene Dietrich (not a Jew), and Max Reinhardt (a Jew) brought their families with them over time or moved their families to another country. Originally Posted by the_real_Barleycorn

Yea, the business of trying to stay alive....kinda like folks south of the border do when they try and come to this country...the business of trying to live better has always been a thriving business.

Lots of Hollywood was American born. But to end the discussion, many people did NOT get their families out and they disappeared into a concentration camp ledger. Why is everyone everything with you idiots have to be 100%. If I say that many got their families out, you say that not everyone did even though no one said everyone got out.

One thing that a history major knows, many actors, directors, or business people died before we had chance to recognize their fame. Always keep in mind what might have been. Think Leslie Howard or Glenn Miller. How much more famous would they been if they had survived the war. Multiple that by the millions who perished under Nazi rule. People like you cheapen their loss by actively comparing those Nazis to these idiots playing Nazi.

Your little present day Nazi's would do the exact same thing given the power. That is why Trump was denounced so.

Stick to wtf you know best. Navy dick sucking and all the free government shit you want Trump to expand upon the vast military industrial complex.
Julienne Davis come out recently. She didn't make a production out of it. She was invited to write an opinion piece that would telegraph to the Hollywood community her view point. She wrote the piece and she is being shit on former friends and colleagues. She is a CONSERVATIVE. Originally Posted by the_real_Barleycorn

The Dixie Chicks were about public backlash for a stupid and cowardly action. It was not the industry that went after them. Think Sinead O'Connor and her photo of the Pope.
It is not unusual for an actress, actor, or director to refuse to hire someone conservative. Tim Allen just lost his show after Trump was elected. Jane Fonda refused to work with Burt Lancaster on Old Gringo. Alison Janney said that they would never allow a conservative actor on the cast of The West Wing. On the other hand John Wayne did not fire John Agar for coming out against Vietnam but he did not socialize with him anymore.

Radio is not the industry numbnuts. Radio is its own industry which depends on the listeners to set the price of advertising revenue. Radio was acting in it's own self interest.

Kind of like a car dealer that sells Teslas. If Tesla got caught doing business with ISIS the dealer's owners may have some difficult decisions to survive.

I read the article the other day

I got the sense many of her"friends" felt the pressure to "unfriend" her on Facebook or whatever as they were fearful of losing acting work if they were associated with her

So she was shunned

Didn't that happen to the Jews? Originally Posted by nevergaveitathought
