Some of those pix were beautiful, a few were powerful. Some were meh. Overall I wish I could have caught it in person. As for the drugs, the number of little glass pipes was a bit surprising.

Seems a bit myopic. He only presents and reinforces the preconceived notions that the public already has about prostitution. I don't see anything that challenges the viewer to think beyond their world view. One sided and heavy handed IMO.

His demographic is clearly not what the world sees as far as this field of business. It would be kinda of eye opening to the average "suburbia mom" to see nothing but Daddy's girls doing bad things.

See I disagree. I dont think the average suburban mom would be that shocked by those picture. Prostitutes are bored, lonely and hooked on drugs. The only thing they are missing to be totally cliched, IMO, is a street lamp and a car.

I don't know any of these women, but do any represent that segment of the Eccie community who are active in discussions, have their own incalls, and treat this like a career (or a means to an end other than supporting a certain "lifestyle")?

I personally would have liked to see some of those women, too, as I am still naive enough to believe at least some of the women here aren't depressed, lonely substance-abusers.

I don't know any of these women, but do any represent that segment of the Eccie community who are active in discussions, have their own incalls, and treat this like a career (or a means to an end other than supporting a certain "lifestyle")?

I believe there were a few photos of women you're describing (can't recall and I'm mobile). To that point, I'd also imagine those types of women would be the minority of the hobby as a whole. Thus, they were represented as such in this piece. Success can be had; but most fall into the pits of what is represented here.

I do agree with the last sentence.

The parts of the photographs that I could certainly relate to is the whole sitting in a hotel room with a computer turned on. Waiting. Alone.

I'm doing it now. I'm at my incall ... it's very pleasant and nice. Drinking some coffee. Doing ads. Reading Eccie.

Right now, I'm working on a pet sitting website. And just waiting.

There is an artistic simplicity to the pictures, don't you think?

Even before "this", I don't think that I would have been shocked at the abuse issues.

I've always felt that this world was just another microcosm of the whole, abuse issues, included.

I just WISH that I'd known about this show before it had already left town.

I'd have loved to have seen it in person. Now, I'm curious. I don't recognize any of those ladies ... not that I would, of course. But no one looks familiar to me.

I'd imagine it's all quite real. You don't need to add anything for "effect" if you're looking for it in this business. Plus, that would raise the possibility of this being disingenuous. Thus having a detrimental and opposite effect hindering what artist was going for.
