I have always preferred offering extended time to my clients, 90 for 60 requested donation or such... and have requested drinks on hand or client brings. Around the holidays, fruit, crackers and little cheese and meats on the side. I love to host, but I feel this let's us get to know one another better and not feel rushed as an hour is so short. I think it also gives me a chance to show that I appreciate them as people and truly enjoy some extra time to connect. Plus it keeps your ROI solid, while still pleasing the client. Gemma has years of experience on me so perhaps this is not the route that works for most. My clients issues are generally not money.....it is time. Time is their most important thing and if I would like to give them some of mine it is usually a well received gift.

Really, your post merely outlines what most of us ladies already do/know. I think the hosting snacks and wine idea is always good for either party on multihour dates. But, I'm thinking of a special for Christmas time only, not the same ole boring specials we offer all year round. I will walk into the restaurant with my elf outfit on if that's what put a special touch on our date. Good ideas though...
