Are you willing to see political correctness enacted into law? Has the First Amendment lost all meaning? Did you notice that when asked about Supreme Court Justices, Hillary did not mention the Constitution? Which freedoms do we no longer need? What more should government be doing for us? I went back and checked my sources; yes, it was Bentham who created the Panopticon and it was Foucalt who I had commenting on it. Of course, most people here didn't even bother to look it up or could understand what Foucalt was trying to warn us against. Nice to know that some people did.

i posted the guardian link on bentham, but didn't make clear he was the originator of the panopticon concept.

interestingly, he was the one who came up with a system of accountability with the question & answer session the british parliament was famous for.

bentham has weird request that after he died he wanted to be mummfied and put on display. they claim to have done this, but i've my doubts. looks like they stuck in a wax figure of him in a climate controlled glass case.
