Kill them just like them killed their victims. If the family wants to take part of it, I'm okay with it.

I like two methods

First one I know would never happen but it would be the best. Take them to Hawaii and throw them in an active volcano. No body no mess no clean up.

Second one is a rope. Hanging is cheap all you need is a tree and a rope and it is reusable.

Hanging in public works well in Saudi Arabia. Very low crime rate there. Also, no blood and the rope can be reused.

If you are going for humane, then do it like euthanizing a pet. No public, no viewing other than immediate family, no gurney. First drug puts them in a deep sleep, 2nd one stops the heart.

Why not get some entertainment out of it. How about a live televised game show where the convict is chased down and slaughtered. It's already been made into a movie, 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger "The Running Man"

If that's not entertaining enough you could always have them fight lions in a coliseum.
I think the deterrent factor would be rather high on this one.

It can be relatively quick and painless but only if done performed by a skilled executioner. Probably the most notorious of all was a man named Albert Pierrepoint. He had the record in Britain for hanging a man in just 7 seconds after he left his cell. Also hanged many Nazi's after WW2.

If you are unlucky however, and the drop isn't long enough, it can take a very long time to strangle to death.
