Security of the site

BBWDeAnna's Avatar
Security is or should be important to all..that said..the less paper trail you leave no matter how you come about obtaining the card to use.. seems smart.. if a guy reaches the point his account is compromised by a S.O and she links him to his handle and reviews then he most likely dropped the ball somewhere

Years back there was a site that was jackin all the reviews off aspd I believe it was and posting them for the world...the hobby like anything done in secret has its risk..the site can only be as safe as it can..and like was said if they use 3rd party then credit card security is up to them

The statement holds true no matter what.."you play you pay" whether for pussy or the risk of getting caught

Why do you even need a credit card for this site? I have never needed one. Originally Posted by BK

Apparently you can read some of the backstory to that sordid affair here: Eccie vs. : A Texas-Based Escort Message Board and its Odd Legal Odyssey

EDITED TO ADD: Apparently the board software used by ECCIE deletes the name of the offending website (can't say I blame the site owners for that); follow the link to learn its name (if you don't remember the incident) as well as the backstory.

I knew I wouldn't be the only 1 that remembered this..

I have read thwt link before..pretty interesting

So correct me if im wrong but if a guy writes 1 review he can get PA credit for a period of time...seems less risk to do that than to use credit card if married..?

I can't speak for others. I bought permanent PA back when I knew I wasn't going to be able to hobby for a very long time, so writing reviews for PA wouldn't be possible. Honestly, since the fee for lifetime PA ($250 when I paid for it; don't know if it costs more now) costs less than the current market rate for one hour with most providers around here, it made for a good investment, and even though I'm able to do some limited hobbying now I'm glad I don't have to write reviews to keep it. But if a guy is not very good at writing, or just doesn't want to go through the hassle of writing reviews for credit, buying PA is a viable option.

That was gonna be my next point..if lifetime access can be purchased...it seems a 1 time investment even at $250-350 whatever it may be..would reduce the risk of having to constantly buy access if u dont write reviews

Not every guy writes reviews and dont mind buying access and contributing that way to the board for the info he needs.. but if I had a nosey S.O.. I think the less times im busy buying and trying to explain why im buying prepaid credit cards all the time the better off I would be

I think the bottom line is that there's really no security this side of the grave... no matter what you do there are going to be risks. I'm sure guys here have been hacked by their SOs (or simply stupidly left the computer unlocked where their SOs could find the site open) and blown their cover that way.

IIRC, each review adds cumulative PA time, so if one came into a bit of money, saw several providers, and wrote acceptable reviews of them, the PA comes to (6 weeks) x (number reviews posted).

I think guys should worry more about a keylogger then a credit card number. But some dudes worry about everything. If you have such risk maybe change hobbies?

I pondered this as well....in my years I have come across some super nervous guys..and I always ask..why hobby if its so stressful..

Years back a wife almost ruined a city because she has a logger put on the computer (this is pre smart phones)..and let me tell you all hell broke loose for many..mainly him..but girls did get contacted..

AFAIK, his main transgression (which I think led to both his "rip the genitals out through his wallet" and the "brain/penis/blood" observations) was getting his son's nanny pregnant while still married to his first wife, which resulted in said nanny becoming his second wife.

In that respect, he's in a similar position to Arnold Schwarzenegger...
