PAPER...OR PLASTIC...

I have said it before and I will say it again...Having worked in the CC industry, I would NEVER accept CC as a form of payment for this hobby. HUGE mistake!!
I will say cc are a bad idea, at least 50% of time. The consumer forces retailers and gas stations use them. Ultimately, It's a huge revenue loser for everyone except banks, not to mention the problems from the merchant services. Paypal can freeze accounts whenever the hell they feel like it. Other merchants will simply cancel your account after so many charge backs.

Kinda risky I think, but we get a lot of people asking if we accept CC's. Anyone know where we would buy one of these phone "swipers" if we were interested in going that route?

I happened to come across one recently from Intuit. They're the makers of Quicken and Turbotax, so I'd say they're reliable. Looks like they charge 2.7% for a swiped card and 3.7% for one keyed into the app according to their website. It's called GoPayment and their website is http://gopayment.com/

For the guys, I can think of two ways to ensure CC security. First is a single-use temporary number. My CC banks provide a free service to create a temp number that can be authorized up to a specified amount.

Another way is to use a prepaid CC which can be obtained from many retailers that can be reloaded.
