As you may have read, I lived in Metairie for 20 years from 78' to 98'.he got the Jefferson Parish vote. that's how JBE won. he had Orleans parish locked up. Had Vitter won JP, a republican parish, he would have been governor, not JBE. I was shocked!
When I moved there in 78', I was stunned at the politics I witnessed on a daily basis. My favorite line about Governor Edwin Edwards was "He may be a crook, but he is our crook".
