So just avoid them, even when they claim to be from a "South American" country or somewhere else. Had one Cuban claim she was from Minnesota lol, I asked if all had accents like her's in Minnesota and she said "yes".

I agree with you. Much of the southern hemisphere is in deep shit and they are risking everything to make an almost impossible journey to get here. This is a cycle with no end in sight until major policy changes are made.

I would also like to add "relentless" to things I dislike about the Cubans. E.g. they'll ask you for a dance and roll their eyes when you decline. They'll come back 30 minutes later and ask you again about getting a dance......and they'll once again cop an attitude if you decline.
