So if a golden visa exempted a foreign nat from global taxation, would that bother you?

So, we wouldn't be getting tax money that we're not getting now anyway.

We would be getting $5 million immediately, and tax income from any business they establish, their employees and the income they derive from said company.

Am I missing something?

There's no requirement for them to start a business. So don't assume that they do.

When I investigated Costa Rica, you were forced to buy a stake in agricultural property, that's what the fee went to.

If it goes straight into taxes, what's wrong with that?

We allow illegals in and give them everything, how about giving all of them a paid way in.

IF they'll pay a Mule 10K, let them pay us, and get in line for legal citizenship.

That's apples and oranges and a very poor comparison.

Stop trying to equivocate vs illegals
immigration. Your example is closer to the EB-5 than the proposed golden visa. And the tax exemption is a benefit no U.S. citizen or permanent resident has today.

It's also in moot point if they eliminate income tax. Until then however they're leaving piles of tax revenue on the table that could pay down debt and giving an advantage you don't get as a citizen.

Are you good with that? Why or why not?

Title aside, not a dissimilar concept from the Saudi Golden Visa, but sounds initially as if it's different in practice. And this would replace the EB-5 program. The one the Kushner's were heavily criticized for trying to lure Chinese investments with.

How does this make you feel? Agree with it? Originally Posted by HDGristle

This shit is getting funny. Trump claims he bought himself a gold card. You know, that visa that gives you permanent residency. That doesn't exist yet.
