I think it was nice to have a parade without gay flags and transgenders leading the way.

That is correct, unless it is off topic.

The Army stated that plans for the Army's 250 birthday celebration had been in the works for two years, but the parade was Trump's idea and planning for it only began recently.

HOW would you know if there were Trans troops there, btw? Thousands of Gay and Trans people have served honorably in the Armed Services. Standing up for your rights and your country.

And I'm pretty sure that the Army has never allowed any "gay flags" to be displayed anywhere at any time.

Under the Biden administration, some embassies flew flags that showed support for social justice initiatives. The U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas flew an LGBT Pride flag in June 2021, noting the decision to do so would “reaffirm the human rights and fundamental freedoms of LGBTQI+ persons.”

This guidance supersedes VA’s previous memorandum on displaying flags during Pride Month, issued in May 2024. However, it does not affect existing policies governing national cemeteries.

U.S. Military Is Now Banned From Displaying the Pride Flag at Work

U.S. Defense Secretary Mark Esper signed an order that will prohibit military bases from flying flags other than the U.S. flag, state flags, and military-related flags.

Under the new guideline, LGBTQ+ groups affiliated with the military will not be allowed to display the rainbow flag at any time, even during Pride Month. Furthermore, LGBTQ+ service members are no longer permitted to display the flag in their workspaces.

Jeezis. Really. How long did you spend looking up that stuff? I hope a very long time.

But you're right. I'm wrong.

So...to use your typical logic here...since this whole flag thing and provin me wrong was the really important thing here...

You agree then with DJ that we don't want no Trans folk bein in our Army parade? That this is a good thing to say.

Cool. Just bein sure.

If I'm wrong, feel free to set me straight. But I'm pretty sure that general SOP here is that we are supposed to make these kinds of assumptions. I see fine examples of it on a continual basis.

I think the parade was the fifth or sixth biggest story of the day.

White House placed the attendance at 250,000. Virtually all other estimates ranged from 20-50k. (It’s because of the Army, not TACO man’s grand birthday, LOL)

I’d have had my ass kicked if I marched like a lot of the personnel in the parade. Kinda cool to see the period uniforms, but also a lot of unpleasant memories.

Trump and Natasha both fell asleep.

Yes, there was to be a 250th celebration for the US Army, but there were no plans for a parade until very recently. Originally Posted by Sasnakra
