Food. Will it end the Guvmint shutdown.

Which is all besides the point.

The point is

“Really this thread shows just how dangerous the mentality of REDHATs are. You all would rather see people starving, or being shot than to acquiesce that dear leader is wrong.”

It’s straight up cultish behavior.

And no, food will not be the end of the shutdown. Originally Posted by txdot-guy

Oddly I haven’t heard the snap crowd begging and pleading for more work, just more free stuff. It seems like that’d be the first thing one would want if they didn’t have enough money. Maybe I was raised differently, idk. Hunting and fishing is another option. Cooking from scratch is a huge money saver, $20 at Walmart can get ingredients for a huge pot of chicken soup that’d feed 4-5 people for days.

I rarely eat out, because it was a pure luxury growing up, and its just not cost effective, so, I have become a very good cook.

We buy bulk, vacuum seal, cook in batches, and freeze the excess.

You dont become a millionaire eating out.

Missed paychecks, canceled infrastructure projects and mass firings haven’t yet convinced congressional Democrats to change their government shutdown stance. But they are now facing down another pressure point threatening a program they’ve long championed benefiting millions of Americans.

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which helps feed more than 40 million people, will start to run out of funds Nov. 1, President Donald Trump’s USDA is warning. At least 25 states plan to cut off benefits starting on that date — including California, the overwhelmingly Democratic state with 4.5 million SNAP recipients.

The food-aid cliff has largely flown under the radar as Democrats focus on another Nov. 1 development: the launch of open enrollment for Affordable Care Act insurance plans in most states. They believe massive premium hikes prompted by the expiration of key federal subsidies will compel Republicans to relent and negotiate an extension at that time.

The democrats want to extend the ACA Subsidies which will pay for more people, most of whom are working jobs that don’t provide insurance. These workers cut across the political spectrum.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates that permanently extending the enhanced subsidies would cost the federal government nearly $350 billion over the next 10 years.

That’s only 35 billion a year.

Why can’t Republicans come to the table over such a small amount of the federal budget.

Food isn’t the issue, Republican intransigence is. The question is whether Republican Politicians will start listening to their constituents or continue fearing El Schitzenpants.

This shutdown is here because Trump wants it and is pressuring his minions in congress to not negotiate with democrats. Even though that’s their damn job.

The fact that you believe that this is about funding healthcare for illegals tells me that you are the one with the aversion to reality. Nobody actually believes that shit unless you’re deep down the MAGA reality hole.

Senator John Fetterman has consistently voted in favor of Continuing Resolutions (CR) to keep the government funded and prevent shutdowns, emphasizing the importance of reopening the government to support federal workers and programs like SNAP. He has expressed frustration with the ongoing shutdown and the political chaos surrounding it, advocating for a focus on government operations first before addressing other issues.

JUST IN: President Trump tells Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries to SHOVE IT - he will never give illegal aliens $1.5 trillion to reopen the government because it will HURT Americans.

"I just can't do it!"

"I said, come on over, just put the government back. All they have to do is say yes and it's over and we start and then we go into a negotiation."

"Look - Obamacare has been terrible. We can make it better. I'm all for that, but they're not and they want to allow many many illegal people...they want them to get paid. And that's going to hurt the citizens of our country!"
