Is this alert worthy?

There is another possibility that I would not rule out too quickly. The guy in question is LE, but the reference he used may still be ligit and not part of it. If they essentially were trying to build a chain to do something other than go after a single lady it could have been something like the following:
--LE sees the 1st provider and now has a reference
--Using that reference they can more easily see a few more; now they have a number of references that allow them to get onto web sites, get cleared with ladies/agencies that are more careful, etc.
--They may or may not go after the first few ladies, may or may not try to turn them

I'm certainly not saying this DID happen, just that it would be consistent with some LE practices depending if they had a specific person or group targeted and the first lady was a stepping stone in their eyes, much as a street dealer on the way to a bigger distributor. Originally Posted by Old-T

Like I said before, I was in shock because I have dealt with this lady on several different occasions, and I've never had a reason to question anything about her in the past.

I find that hard to believe and if true, I think their evidence would be tossed out in court or at the very least would give the defense a huge advantage knowing the case was made by police who broke the law. LE wouldn't do it quite like that. But they might confide in a Civilian to infiltrate an escort circle and provide them with info and a setup for a few arrests. Typically Prostitution stings are not conducted on an individual basis either. Is this fundamentally different from an undercover cop buying a small amout of drugs from a low level dealer to start working their way up the chain to a major distributor? I don't know the legalities, but I know small illegalities are allowed for a bigger target. I don't know if it applies in this case, but I suspect it does.

Lovelyelle, Your observations were rather interesting. One thing I am a little unclear on. You said you saw an unmarked police car. What did it look like and was anyone inside. The reason I am asking is because unmarked police cars are generally the same make and model as marked cars. They just don't have any insignias or bar lights. Police Detectives the suit and Tie guys are usually assigned these vehicles. The other type of vehicle other than a marked squad are the undercover vehicles they can be anything they can range from Corvettes to Pickup trucks and they are used for deep undercover vice ops, like Narcotic and prostitution stings. I will admit that had I not spotted the patrol car, I probably would've missed it. I was on alert once I saw the first one, so scanning the lot was a bit instinctual. Although I've never been in the back of one (well, not in a BAD way), I have a bit of experience spotting them (maybe I'll tell you about it someday ). Nobody was inside it. The "markings" of an unmarked car were extremely obvious to someone who knows what they look like. The tip off for me would have been the part about "really great sex". I've never asked that question or been given that response in a ref check. However, men have told me that this is what they "think" we talk about in a ref check. So to me it sounds like you may have gotten your ref check reply from a male. Whatever you have to do to feel secure in your decision to meet a gent, do it. You didn't feel right and you walked away, you have made the right decision.
