For those who did not upgrade to the iPhone 5, if you don't want maps to change along with a few other tweaks, don't update your older model to iOS 6. iOS 6 will add things like passport, VIP mail, and change the maps.

It is possible to downgrade back to iOS 5.1.1 but it is a bitch! Took me over two hours to downgrade my daughters iPhone 4. You have to alter files on your computer in order to bypass Apples security on the now unsigned downgrade software.

So far I haven't found an untethered jailbreak for iOS 6. I'm sure it will come out, but when. Good thing is Verizon has put their phones out as factory unlocked. My Gevey purchases will drop! I've had a blast unlocking and jail breaking all the older iPhones. Simply amazes me that they will charge 50 bucks or more for a ten minute program to unlock and jailbreak a phone. Jailbreak is the simplest procedure anyone can do at home. Unlocking iz a little more technical.

I recently read that the USB end of their new Lightning-USB cables can get stuck.

Just a couple of reasons that I will wait until the rush is over before buying one:

Amazon for accessories is my go to. My GF wanted to buy an iphone cord at a local store, for 50 bux, got it on Amazon for 15.... Originally Posted by ~Ze~

I've still got the 4s and haven't had it quite a year yet so I don't plan on upgrading to another for a while. I did upgrade to iOS6 and I haven't had a problem with the maps. Matter fact I used it the first day to get me home (yes I know how to get home...lol) just to see how it worked and it pulled me right into my driveway. Also used it on the trip to Houston Saturday and had no issues with it. Guided me right to Houston Hobby. It's actually nice to finally have voice nav.

For those who want turn-by-turn directions with voice navigation alternative to Apple Maps, consider the Waze app.
