So many of these threads have all the drama of a classic NCAA Big 8 football rivalry like NU vs OU or NU vs CU with all the trash talking, flaring attitudes, and opinions.
We all know that athletes, coaches, and administration can get themselves into hot water and end up putting not just one, but both feet in their mouths by what they have said or done. No one needs that kind of “Bad Press”.
The important thing is that when people realize mistakes have been made, they focus to try to make amends and bring cohesiveness to the most important thing; “The Love of the Game”, with the will to preserve it as much as possible in an untarnished fashion.
That’s why it’s so great when all the members from all sides, work together to reach that common goal for everyone involved, including the “Fans”.

Play hard, play fair, play safe, and try to keep it clean by taking subjectivity and negativity out of it, even if it is “Great for the Headlines and Ratings”. Some rivalry is healthy as long as it it doesn't get bitter, obsessive, or vindictive.
Always remember that real life is often much better than fiction.
