OMG! I hate to admit this on a public forum, but...


I still have the slide rule that I used when I won the district UIL competition during my senior year in High School. And believe it or not, I can still use it over 40 years later...



I have an engineering degree - note the way I spelled byte in my handle

Oh, and I raise cattle too.

everyone says they're a Geek or a nerd these days It's been coopted. What does it mean anymore?

Well for one we are one letter away from Greek, and we are good with R as in "What a nerrrrrrrrrrd".

I was a geek way before it was cool.

So do any of you have the pocket sized Circular slide rule? I would consider mine as a collectors item. At least to me.

Not pocket size, mine is about an 6" diameter.

God, are we really comparing slide rule sizes?

I surrender, I surrender. Dang, I feel so emasculated. Mine is only 3" in diameter.

OK, so what about the one who fits all of these categories:
Smart, and a little nerdy (I do have and can operate a slide rule, LOL), but also equiped with the other kind of smarts learned from the streets. Cerebral is the word I like. Capable of being mysteriously quiet and shy or being conversant on a myriad of topics and subjects from current events, world history, art, travel, etc.

Comfortable in a button down and sweater, Wranglers (covered with the obligatory dust or a little grime when digging trenches or faling off of 2500 lb bulls)., a Hickie Freeman pin strip suit, or jeans and his black leather jacket for ridin the Harley, or shirtless in pajama bottoms. Fully capable of fading into the woodwork or projecting ALPHA MALE to the entire room.

And did someone mention firearms??? Hmmmmm, quite an extensive collection!!!

There are some that embody all of the desired attributes listed prior in the thread........................ .Unfortunately, we all have small penises!!!!!!!!!
