Wow! It looks almost identical to the one I was talking about getting! Originally Posted by Ginger DollAre you getting a Smith & Wesson Model 66, .357 caliber? That's what this weapon is, with a lightened trigger and Hogue grips.
If you can afford it I would get a Glock in 40cal. The kick is not bad and the round is a good round. Originally Posted by mike8443Excellent advice! Yes, AR is one of the 40 states with a CCW permit. Unfortunately, our legislature has not enacted a 'Castle' law like many other states have done. Originally Posted by LonesomeMy home state has a "make my day" law, and added a broader protective statute this year.
No, it was the Ruger .357 Magnum with a laser thingy on the handle. Is that bad? I really liked the feel of it in my hands. But, if you have opportunity....shoot other weapons, including the Glock, and then determine if you like the Ruger revolver best. If I had opportunity, I'd drive to your area and bring a few weapons for you to shoot to help with your decision.
I still like the Colt 1911 .45 cal. It is my carry weapon of choice very little kick cause it is heavy but what a knock down. It is the small arm of choice for our seal teams. For Ginger I think you should go to the range and shoot several before you purchase the important thing besides taking a course and getting your permit is practice practice practice. So you should get a weapon that you like to shoot and shoot it often. You should be able to shoot your weapon, reload, and shoot again in the dark. Become intimate with it as it may safe your life.
