On the subject of following advice... it seems that part of the problem is that it's hard to remind myself to be frugal when I've actually got the thrill of a successful day and some money in hand. On the bright side, my tips ended up being more than sufficient to go to the mall and (amongst other things) run around an aerial obstacle course. So I'm pretty happy with that!
(...yeah, I still should be more responsible. But I've wanted an adult-sized jungle gym for ages!)
(I'll take some comfort in the fact that it's better than some of the other ways people spend money irresponsibly, at least. :P)

SO I limit my going to these places as much as possible. Thank God there aren't many Torrids around! I have a hard time with them because I buy my "uniform" there and at $15 a pair of fishnets and going through like 10+pairs a month adds up. I started watching for their sales to help myself and stopped buying every single black nightie they come out with because I have a ton and realized guys can't tell the diff between lace trims or straps they just see black haha.
It is very hard when it comes to.some things. Maybe try limiting yourself on somethings and indulging as a reward with others.
