Which is the best bicycle shop in Dallas??

Richardson Bike Mart (the one actually in Richardson) is my bike shop of choice. I have purchased 4 bikes from them over the years, including my flagship Colnago C40 and my Specialized M2 StumpJumper Comp. great service all-around.

somebody mentioned a shop in Lewisville... that would be Bluebonnet. I bought my first real bike (a TREK 1000) from them years ago. the owner Ben is a really nice guy and you can't go wrong with them.

Plano Cycling is owned by 'Bikin' Mike Keel', he is a complete asshole and i refuse to even walk in the door of that place.

but if you're lookin' for cruiser or commuter bikes or whatever, Richardson Bike Mart has by far the best selection of bikes of every type.

REI has a good selection. Richardson is good as well.
Have bought bikes for family members at Sports Authority and Dicks as well. If you are just starting to ride they maybe a great place to find an entry level bike and I am sure they will have a big Labor Day sale.

Gentlemen, I want to buy a bike but I don't know where to go. I don't want an uber bike, I don't want to compete with it, I want to ride it and enjoy it. I was thinking something with just ten gears or so with a vintage look. (think Excelsior or Huffy, '50's) I know, I'm old school and that's what I like. Any suggestions on where to go? And no, I will not shop at a big box store. I want a bike shop and a good bike.

Hey, don't dis the bell and streamers. I'm going to have a book rack and basket too but I most likely won't compete in the Ironman with it.

I have bought bikes at RBM, Bicycles Plus and Bicycles Inc. and they are all good places with good service departments.

Bicycles Inc is a great place and that is where I got my bike. THese guys are great.. I talked to them over the phone and in person they were very genuine.

Basically I told them what I wanted and they showed me that IN MY PRICE RANGE!

Granted he did show me a bike that was slightly over my ranger, however he was giving me the reasons why he did and it made sense!

I use to be a department bike guy all my life! I hated it... Then I got my Trek 3700, which is a entry level mountain bike and I was happy!

I have no complaints, and the guys over there are willing to tune it up after its been broken it.

There the ones who suggested going to the Doctor to get a prescription for a bicycle to save on the sales tax.

I also like to state, even though I know I am repeating myself here, but they are PET FRIENDLY at the Arlington location. I can speak for any other locations.

Thank you, gentlemen. I've visited the website of every suggestion you gave. It seems I'll have to wait until Tuesday to call them because of the holiday. I'm excited to be buying a bicycle after not having one for so long! Thank you for all the suggestions and I didn't even mind the teasing.

Oh Dharma you love it especially if there are any trails near you.

I live by the River legacy, and they have a concrete path that stretches apx 15 miles give or take.

Really good exercise and beats riding a stationary bike which seems so repetitive.

I am a outdoorsy type of person and just being out there really is a great way to keep in shape.
