You're confusing realpolitik with debt reduction. Originally Posted by Tiny

If the Captain thinks the President of the US sets production quotas that our oil companies are supposed to adhere to....like you and lusty keep implying...then I'm outta here.

What you two do not seem to be able to grasp is that the greenies will never be able to stop drilling.

Oh they may make for a little more red tape but any time gas prices hit a critical point....they are getting voted out. That is Realpolitik.

Realpolitik is that Putin will find a buyer for Russian oil.

The price of oil will go back down. All one has to do is go back in time. These are mere hiccups....let us see if we are really going to replace energy efficiency with more energy security.

I can see China buying Russian oil but how can they replace out GDP with Russia

no one is saying or implying that, not even you. once again you say other people said something they didn't to make a point of nothing.

no, i think they clearly know that and once again you are blabbering to yourself about a non-fact. as everyone here knows, petroleum is used for far more than gas. little AOC is too stupid to understand that but no one else in this thread is that stupid, including you!

of course. but can China and the rest of the third world buy that much russkie oil if the US and the bulk of the G20 most of which are in both Europe and NATO stop buying Russkie oil, completely?

what about that? and what if the US does crank up production to have a surplus to sell? and as we all know, a glut lowers the global price. since our economy is far larger by several orders of magnitude than Russia's who do you think can survive that? we can they can't. butt you knew that right professor poofter?

the far left radicals who want to destroy America must label this "America First" mandate as "fascist" which even YR knows is false so one wonders why he flies that false flag? only a hard core commie plays that card. and the other card.

if WWIII is fought on purely economic terms with a strong leader like Trump and Reagan before him who Trump admired, the US would win. easily.

if the leftist radical socialists have their way we'd surrender like pussies.
Go fuck yourself JackieS.

I'm not a greenie....I bought stock before Putin invaded. You silly fucks who continue to mistake people to subscribe to Realpolitik as followers of AOC are stupider than that silly bitch.

This is America...people like AIC are entitled to her position. There is nothing unamerican about her position even though I do not agree with it.

You'd have to be a moron to think this country will stand for a second for high energy costs.

This is not 1940 where anyone will sacrifice for any common good because we can't agree on wtf common good is.

Even you , who used to be pretty level headed has fallen into the partisan drill...now Tiny.

If Captainmidnight abandons Realpolitik.....I'm outta here. Originally Posted by WTF

Fracking has been banned in France, Germany, Ireland, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom. New York, which has a sizeable Marcellus Shale resource, has banned fracking. Fracking has effectively been banned in California, as the state government will not issue drilling permits for wells that would be fracked. California I believe used to be the third largest producing state in the USA, with around 400,000 BOPD production. It's a far cry from that now.

Probably half the Democratic Congressmen would vote to ban fracking if the Ukraine situation had not arisen. AOC and the rest love meddling in the affairs of states like Texas where they have no business meddling.

LustyLad's number, that our production would be around 5 million BOPD instead of 12 million BOPD without fracking, isn't a bad ballpark estimate IMHO.

You're living in a bubble in Houston Texas.

How do you expect oil companies to make money with low oil prices?

This is not a vacuum. High gas prices are good for some and bad for others. You think low oil prices are great for the state of Texas?

1) It was implying he knows nothing about Realpolitik economics. Yet you continue listening to his nonsense as if it's gospel.
2) It was implying that he wasn't going to do anything of personal sacrifice but your worship of what the silly SOB says may have YOU joining the Ukraine Army and getting yourself killed.

That is hardly supporting Putin. More like making fun of his Chicken Little like ignorance and your blindly following him over the cliff.

I'm actually for arming them to the hilt. And am up for the discussion of a Clinton type response that was warranted in Bosnia/Serbs. Read that as American air support.

Now again tell me how I'm supporting Putin? My profits off high oil prices seems to be what I'm "guilty" of in this thread. So what do you and others so called free market capitalists want? Some surcharge tax on oil companies profits.

What I have done in this thread is expose what really happens when gas prices get high...most of you turn into whining Socialist. Those making a profit off oil increase are somehow now supporting Putin. Jesus.

Kissinger would be disappointed in how you've played this.

And another small point...you defend Florida's choice not to allow drilling off their coast on one hand and then cry about California trying to ban some of their oil drilling.

That seems like hypocrisy to me.
