Of course the original uptempo version by Les McCann & Eddie Harris at Montreux was a Masterpiece!

Just hearing this now in the age of Trump and the madness that keeps gripping and consuming the Right-wing makes this composition so gripping and jarring and just as relevant today 50 years later.

Aqualung is my favorite Jetho Tull album. Ian Anderson was in his prime. Looking back at the art/prog rock bands, Tull holds up well and doesn't sound as dated as some of the others imo.

Most of the band members played with Frank Zappa. It's an acquired taste for sure. Her voice isn't quite as obnoxious on other tracks. I couldn't stand this song in the 80's when it first came out, but it grew on me over the years. Maybe it's the singers outfit. 😂 Terry Bozio is a monster percussionist.
