This really helps encapsulate the varying headwinds and interest groups. For some, they want the focus on hardened and/or dangerous criminals. Others want them to pursue every single immigration violation with zealous and righteous fury. Still others some common sense and human decency.

If the libs would participate and tell ICE when they were in jail etc, there wouldnt have to be such a wide net.

Plenty of libs do participate.

NYS, for example, holds people on ICE detainers all the time.

There wouldn't need to be such a wide net if ICE was actually competent and did their research as to who they're detaining, and why. As is, they're an embarrassment to the phrase "law enforcement".

ICE already had a tough job before they had to play these dumb games and get sloppy to meet the numbers they're being asked to meet.
