In March 1973, Vaughan joined Marc Benno's band, the Nightcrawlers, after meeting Benno at a jam session years before.[35] The band featured vocalist Doyle Bramhall, who met Vaughan when he was twelve years old.[36] The next month, the Nightcrawlers recorded an album at Sunset Sound Recorders in Hollywood for A&M Records. While the album was rejected by A&M, it included Vaughan's first songwriting efforts, "Dirty Pool" and "Crawlin'".[37]https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stevie_Ray_Vaughan
Tiger and a monkey went to war
The monkey rode in on a labrador
The tiger came on roller skates
Skids and fancy figure eights
Juggling a dozen plates or more
Strutting cocky to the n'th degree
Monkey brought his field artillery
Look at what the tiger brought
Some ante-bellum cannon shot
Engraved with Louisiana filigree
Round and round and round again we go
Round and round and round again you know
You're sweet as a buttercup
With the gold side up
Don't ever think of leaving till you go
Blackbird sitting on a daisy chain
Says maybe you should come out of the rain
Why don't you just postpone your war
Clothe your hungry, feed your poor
Before you take your sword up once again
Round and round and round again we go
Round and round and round again you know
You're sweet as a buttercup
With the gold side up
Don't ever think of leaving till you go
Well now I've told you everything I know
But that never shut me up before
Been dealing down the line
Crooked decks and loaded dice
How far do you think your luck may go
Come and kiss me quick oh Molly Dee
One for you another one for me
We'll make love upon the fence
Barring fatal accidents
Show how one and one can still make three
You're sweet as a buttercup
With the gold side up
Don't ever think of leaving till you go
