Daughter of Random Thoughts

Remake of Dine movie, think they get it right this time
Wheel of Time on Amazon Prime. This is a huge series, 14 books. 4.4 million words. That equals GoT, Harry Potter and Bible word count. Amazon is spending more per episode than GoT so it should be well done. This series is often referred to as the bridge between LotR and GoT Originally Posted by Rockydoc

I'm sorry Rockydoc, I just couldn't let it go. But I knew you were talking about Dune.

GoT until near the end when the show runners appears to just want it to end

There are a few things coming out that should be great if you like fantasy or SF Originally Posted by Rockydoc

IMHO, one of the most underrated Sci-Fi series is "The Expanse" on Amazon Prime. It has something for everyone, extremely strong female leads, realistic space physics, intense battles, crime and drama, and even something for Hog Fans!

Seriously, I love this show and have have watched it a couple of times. There are a few episodes like "Triple Point" that I have watched at least 10 times.

Keep in mind you need to get through the first three episodes before making a decision if you like it. Those three tend to be a little slow but once you get through them, you will binge watching them.
I guess I was hungry with a Freudian typo when trying to type Dune

There is a trailer just released for Wheel of time

There is a trailer and actually a longer 20 min segment of dune that was shown on IMAX but available on YouTube.

Wheel of time is a twist of the typical classic fantasy trope of a savior that is destined to fight the evil dark one. The world is massive with probably one of the best developed fantasy cultures ever, the Aiel. There is incredible character development with a large group of central main characters to follow. The setting is probably renaissance level technology with gunpowder (fireworks) but no guns yet and Newly invented telescopes. Probably not at first but as the story progresses a lot of nudity with several of the cultures. There are several of the cultures that are matriarchal. It was certainly the best fantasy series since Tolkien and on par with GoT.

Another series starting in September is the svi fi classic Foundation by Isaac Asimov. This is his most famous series but he is well known for his robot series. I robot, bicentennial man
So kind of you to say that. I read the series shortly after it came out starting about 1992 until the final book came out a few years ago. A span of almost 30 years waiting 2-3 years in between books. I would read each book in a few days and then wait a few years, LOL.

I bet the kitchen will be amazing.
