TRUMP 2020 U.S.A.

And yet he is President and NONE of the other people you mentioned...are not!!!

I disagree with and have alot of problems with Fake Pres Chump overall.
The main thing though is a trend that I see as a blight on our society.
In my day we valued, respected, and appreciated true talent and ability.
This was true in academics, business, sports, and entertainment,ie. actors, musicians, and such.
Back then these top notch individuals did not self-promote too much (no bragging).
Now many no talent or marginally talented people self-promote (brag),market, and spin their way to celebrity status and financial benefit.
Chump is in this category.
He is nowhere close to the sphere of Bill Gates,Steve Jobs,Warren Buffet,Willie Mays,Jim Brown,Jack Nicholson,or the Beatles.
Back then we could tell chicken-shit from chicken-salad and know that the Monkees were not the Beatles. Originally Posted by sportfisherman

Communism vs cronyism for the right to run against the liar-in-chief who currently occupies the WH. Originally Posted by SpeedRacerXXX

Fake Pres Chump has bragged, marketed, and spun himself into a position of prominence due to his supporters not being able to discern chicken-shit from chicken-salad.
Plus there is a difference in being able to blow yourself up popularity wise and then not being capable of governing.
Who you like best - the Monkees or the Beatles ?

Let's return to the 2020 election for a moment.

The only issue on which Trump has been getting passing grades is the economy. Failure on every other issue. So let's look at the economy.

Lowering the unemployment rate from 4.7% when he took office to 3.6% today over the course of 3+ years is NOT a great accomplishment.

Monthly employment is still good but Obama's record on employment was just as good.

The tax reform package was a plus for an estimated 80% of the taxpayers in this country, but far more beneficial to those at the top of the income scale than those at the middle and below.

GDP, which Trump promised would be 3+ has not reached that goal and is not predicted to do so in 2020 or 2021.

The new USMCA deal replacing the old NAFTA is not a "WOW" deal to the U.S. Certainly better but nothing great about it.

We are still in a trade war with China and our tariffs are costing the people in this country millions of dollars.

Anyone on a fixed income is losing money YTY.

So that leaves the stock market as Trump's crowning achievement on the economy. Even though it impacted only 54% of the eligible people in this country. And now that "accomplishment" has taken a severe hit. In the last year the DJIA is downover 1700 points. With the recent drop, the DJIA is up 21% since Trump took office. Not a good ROI in 3+ years.

Without the gains in the stock market, Trump's economy is not good. Especially when you factor in the $1 trillion increase in the deficit, unheard of in times of a good economy.

In the recent past, Trump's approval rating on the economy has been in the low 60% range. I think he is about to take a major hit to that rating.

Trump winning more electoral votes in 2020 than he did in 2016 is very unlikely.

If the economy falters, and there is a high likelihood it will falter near term, Trump is in deep doo-doo. As stated, he has little else going for him.

BTW, I didn't see a path to Democrats winning back the Senate, but one now exists.

Republicans are favored to win back the Senate seat in Alabama. Democrats are either favored to win or are in close contests in NC, Arizona, and Colorado. In Montana, a solid Trump state but a state that reelected a Democrat to the Senate in 2018, Steve Bullock just announced he will be running against Republican Steve Daines in November. Bullock is a very popular Montana governor and a tight race is expected.

There is little chance Republicans win back the House, Had Sanders been the Democratic nominee that would have been a remote possibility. With Biden as the nominee, it won't happen.

Though I do wonder with Biden as the nominee who is really being foisted upon you? Who is behind that curtain, really?

Isn't that conveeenient, that your guy can quote 2 Corinthians and still be "God's choice" for president despite 25 counts of sexual assault, professing his love for Kim Jong Un, capitulating to Putin, and seeking foreign help in rigging an election.

Just goes to show that the party of religious fanaticism is so gullible that they'll tolerate the most corrupt liar and pussy grabber on the planet for the sake of a quick win, even if it costs them the good-will and trust of true conservatives for decades.

You hear that giant whooshing sound? That's the sound of disgusted 2016 Trump voters switching sides for 2020.

Annnnnnnnd it's up. Trump is pitching a tax cut and the markets reacted. Overall the economy is in great shape except from the effects of the virus. And it's in better shape than under Obama.
