Well geez I didn't watch the whole video but some if not all of those aren't even fishing kayaks.
Kayaks are incredibly sturdy especially the bigger sit on top ones. My buddies all have hobies and they stand and piss out of them. I have a little yak and only turned it over one time; my first time in it and was reaching behind me for a shrimp bucket. You'll learn quickly what you can and cannot do in them. I'm in shallow water 90% of the time so if I do flip, no big deal. I have my gear tied down with leashes just in case but don't think I'll flip any more. I landed a 27" red yesterday with no problem and have caught several big trout with no hiccups. They can be a great ride when you hook into a jack or bull red. Be sure to be able to pull your anchor quickly if you do. It is fun fishing marshes where most boats can't go.
I would go into the bays there are places you can go that boats can't get to so you wouldn't have to worry about that...Does the kayak rock ? Like when you caught a big fish or was it just a pain in general? Originally Posted by Dorthy_Monroe

I have both a yak and a boat. Love both. I generally fish in bays, Galveston, Matagorda. I also do some wading, surf and bay. Love them specs, redfish and flounder.
Anybody been fishing lately

Been doing a bunch this year and it was generally very good until the hurricane. Most of the waters I fish, haven't recovered yet. Flounder are starting to get more active. Reds have been hit or miss the last few weeks and trout have been relatively tough except dinks.
