some ppl take things to personal...I am a BBW, fat, over weight whatever you wanna call me...but i dont let things get to me...especially words...everyone has a right to there opinion...I have stayed out this thread because i personal dont care what ppl think of me...I love me and thats all that matters....but i will say this not everyone is over weight, fat, obese, bbw because of what they eat, how much they eat, when they eat... I am just the opposite....I did not eat enough...I use to work 7 days a week 70-80 hour work weeks and i did not take the time to eat..so when i did feed my body it stored any and all fat because my body did not know when it would be feed again...Since i have started to eat 6 small meals a day I have lost 62lbs.... My point is not all BBW, obese, over weight, or fat (whatever you all choose to call us) is because of how much they eat or because they are lazy, what they eat, or when they eat it.....

I took the very first thread as you (wakeup) trying to educate but some where along the lines it turned into a thread of putting obese fat ect. ppl down and the name calling has just became out of control....

So if you don't eat enough you can get fat?
Wakeup's Avatar
If you don't eat enough calories, your body goes into starvation mode and you cease losing weight as fast because your body metabolism slows down. If you then up your calories intake suddenly, sure, you'll gain a lot of weight...but do you gain significant weight when you don't eat enough calories, not a chance...

The weight comes on quickly when you go back to a normal diet, but while you're in starvation mode, no, you don't "get fat"...continual starvation or fasting is a sure fire way to NOT lose weight, and you may even gain a few pounds, but in no way is it a recipe for getting fat...

I was just clearly stating not everyone that is fat obese over weight is because they eat to much or is lazy....

Ok - this is crackin me up. I'll take criticism from a guy who doesn't smoke, drink very much and use it as a drug, doesn't do drugs, and doesn't cheat on his wife, and doesn't lie, cheat or steal or tolerate those that do. If you have that kind of discipline then I'm impressed. But any of you fuckers who stay skinny because you substitute one drug in place of food don't impress me in the least.
Why is that, fatso, you say? Because that same burning desire you have to cheat on your wife, to get drunk or at least a small buzz, smoke that cigarette, get high on pot or sumpin' stronger, is the way I feel when I want to eat something satisfying! So you are just another lame ass wanker with an addiction, just like me - but mine is more immediately obvious so you act like you have more discipline - but do you?
The cost of smoking, drug abuse, cheating at work, lying, stealing, adultery, broken families, and alcoholism also cost society a bundle - so excuse me while I go eat a double cheeseburger with fries and a shake! I don't smoke, drink, cheat, lie, steal or commit adultery (insofar as I ain't married), do drugs, or anything else except overeat.
As Jesus said, "Let he who is among us without sin cast the first stone."

It is also used in an attempt to marginalize the poster and make the real target of the comment seem superior intellectually.

It is an age-old knee-jerk response, although patently transparent.

After re-reading WU's initial post it is obvious he was talking about himself as an example and he was not name calling or labeling beyond common terms that are customarily used.

In a marketing environment the "marketers" tend to adopt phrases and acronyms that "candy coat" or camouflage the truth and reality to create a more palitable product or service and thereby attempt to gain a greater share of the market place .... or in some cases appear to be something that they are are not ... I once met a used car salesman who had a card that read "Transportation Counselor"!

For instance as our society grows "larger" the "bar" of what people call "petite" moves higher on the weight and size scale for instance. It's just that on BP (and on here) guys want to see a picture(s) of the real person and the advertiser wants to publicize they are "petite" so they publish pictures of someone who weighs 140 to 150 and is 5'5" .... I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they don't know what "petite" is when they are selecting someone's pictures to steal.

As for folks who have "a weight problem" ... they have two choices basically ... live with it or live without it, which means they either accept their condition or reject it and do something about it. But if they are going to "accept" their over-weight condition, part of that "acceptance" is dealing with criticism and accepting that without attacking the folks who recognize the condition .... and for everyone's sake don't expect the rest of society who do control their condition to accommodate your unwillingness to control yours.
