game last night was the wackiest NFL game I have seen in a while. Rodgers getting hurt in the first 5 minutes, possibly out for the season. Allen turning the ball over 4 times, the 65 yard punt return to win in overtime. that's what we watch football for Originally Posted by beeman1000Some of us couldn't watch it, due to cheap TV packages
Might as well climb on my Soapbox... Sports has become something of a Haves vs. Have nots. As such, a large segment of the population sits out of the Sports conversation, and finds other interests away from Sports. Take the US Open Women's Final, 3 days ago. Fuck you if you don't have ESPN. Texas Rangers? Very exclusive TV rights, and if you want to go in person, you're dropping more than $100, parking, Hot Dogs, etc., excluded.
In a Capitalist economy, they are free to do as they please. But as Howard Cosell famously said, ''the games are meaningless''. More and more people are being forced to figure that out. Entertainment choices are legion, it looks short-sighted to me, to deliberately reduce your fan base by pricing in disinterest.
