The Dallas Cowboys and NFL 2022 Season

The Browns o-line getting absolutely beat the fuck up by the steelers pass rush.

Am I imagining it or does defense seem to be winning the escalation war right now? I am not seeing a lot of offenses that are dominating, seeing a lot of defenses that are absolutely terrorizing their opponents. Originally Posted by beeman1000

2 games and the defense has only allowed two scoring drives. +60 point differential. 17 week season, but this is the best team right now. Long way to go. Originally Posted by Cowboys1960

It has been some teams just are not ready.
Its funny how people love to find reasons to not give teams their credit. A lot of people (not me) were saying Daniel Jones finally arrived after what he did with the Giants last year and basically no receivers. I have always said he aint it and I still stand by that. shutting out a team 40-0 is still impressive, especially when its a divisional rival as those games you just never know whats going to happen.

The Jets everyone was high on their defense (obviously on the team when Rodgers was expected to be the QB). Team that hasnt allowed a team to score on their opening drive in their last 15 games.... something about keeping teams under 30 since week 2 of last year or something. We did both.

Ok yeah we havnt "played anyone" yet... but we still played 2 professional NFL teams and handled them well. You can only play whats in front of you. Im not saying we are going to the super bowl or anything. Its still too early to proclaim anything like that. Defense is looking like its in mid season form already. Offense needs to figure out how to convert some of those red zone trips to TDs. We start doing that, we have the potential to make noise.

Prayers to Chubb. Looked at a video of that leg injury. I grabbed at my leg when I saw it and felt some phantom pain. Leg is not supposed to bend that way.
Agreed. Maybe the Giants aren't great (they aren't) but they are an NFL team and the Cowboys shut them out and put up 40 on them. Statistically shutouts happen in the modern NFL around 3% of the time. That is not an every day win. And the Jets have one of the toughest defenses in the league but that didn't stop the Cowboys from putting up 30 points while holding them to 10.

Obviously bigger tests are coming. We'll know more after the Patriots, 49ers and especially the Eagles. But it's not foolish to get excited about their performance so far.

You really don’t know who anyone is two weeks into a season. But I’d rather be 2-0 than 0-2.
Yeah. Im not crowning them as the best team in the NFL.. and yeah 2 weeks in is too early to tell anything. Hell injuries two weeks in is changing certain teams. Im not too worried about the Patriots but they can be a problem. The big tests imo are going to be the 49ers, Eagles, Bills and possible the Commies if they keep up what they are doing. But you cant sleep on anyone. Any given sunday is a phrase for a reason.

With current performances 2 weeks in, I would put us in the top 5 conversation for sure... but its a LONG season. Like TinMan said, i would rather be 2-0 than 0-2. This defense keeps playing like this though, they will give us more and more to be excited for.

I'm thinking the next two games should be fairly easy victories. No wins among the next 2 opponents. The 49er game should tell us a lot.

I wouldn’t look past the patriots. They are 0-2 but they played two of the better teams and took both down to the wire. And i just never count bill belichek out in any case

I want to watch the Patriots just to see Bill throw that challenge flag.

Well Cowboys D just took a big hit. Diggs tore his ACL in practice today, done for the year. Thankfully we have Gilmore.. but that hurts still. Front 7 are going to be important now more than ever.

I'm flipping my loyalty back to Dallas, haha. Already here 3 days of the week, back for good in November. long as they be winning, they stop and I'm Eagles again.
Welcome to the fan base again.. and if you leave... BOOOO to you and your next choice of teams LOL

The Diggs injury hurts. If it had to happen, the week leading up to the Cardinals is a good spot for it to happen. Granted they are a NFL team and they did give their first two teams a fight... but I would rather play an 0-2 team than a 2-0 or 1-1 team to test out any changes to the secondary that needs to be made. As long as Parsons and co continue to put pressure on opposing QBs, that will help whoever has to step up for Diggs.
