I enjoyed CW. I pretty much thought it was what Avengers 2 should've been. I'd put it at about the same level as the Winter Soldier for the Marvel movies, so in the top 5 for me, I'd say (I liked IM 1, Avengers 1, GotG more). Originally Posted by jbravo_123

Didn't say Winter Solider was bad. That movie is easily top 3 MCU and possibly The Avengers. CW wasn't impressive as it had nothing to do with the comic story line which was very disappointing. It was just a bunch of slap boxing and some no name villain who really shouldn't have even been in the movie.

After thinking about it I looked up the villain and saw it was Baron Zemo. They really shitted on his comic background. Crossbones for sure had no business in the movie as he doesn't do anything. I guess nobody is addressing the elephant in the room on how this Civil War story line is just an alternate version of the X-Men's Mutant Registration Act.

Crossbones was wasted in the movie and I hate when they do that - make a big deal about the character returning and they are briefly in it in the beginning and then pulled out.

I was about to say... you thought Zemo was a no-name villain? I liked their take on him quite a bit since it was a real contrast on how he attacks the Avengers vs Ultron's brute force method.

If they're going to take a sharp turn from source material why even bother? That's disrespectful to both audiences as it's shitting on fanboys and it's deceiving the typical movie goer who doesn't read comics. All the movie was about the Avengers fighting amongst themselves which they have done in the comics over and over. CW brought in a lot more people from within the Marvel Universe.

CW in the comics was a decent storyline and don't know why people hated it. Even then when I read it I thought of X-Men but to me if felt like it was rehashed to touch base on The Patriot Act and all the other shit going on at the time. The aftermath was hokey but it is what it is.
Why is WB and DC is giving Zack his third chance in making a DC movie,I will never know!

Just seen CW. Overall good movie. Was a little put off by the kid playing Spidey. Good pick for Aunt May.
