At least you toned down the "hilarity" in this one. See? much better.
I was not defending one OR the other. I never said socialism was better OR vice versa. Now, you would only understand this if you had actually passed the third grade. I merely explained what communism and capitalism are. Apparently your butt-boys on here are just as illiterate as you are. Capitalism might be the lesser of two evils, but it is still the root of the problems in this country. And no, nothing capitalism provides currently can be likened to freedom. It's a means of control, just like communism. "Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." You see? that's me being idealistic right there. You learned a new word today.
And besides, you can't judge something from when it's practiced in a horrible way like the socialism in Russia or North Korea. You should go read the "wikipedia" article to enlighten yourself just a little on what socialism actually stands for.
Now, I'm sure that went through your head as if I had said "the United States should be a communist/socialist country!". Frankly, your idiocy and ignorance are the least of my worries. You are but a small fish in that giant Idiot pond you swim in.

If you view the sweep of history and fail to see the amazing contrast between the rapid human progress achieved under capitalism and the enormous human suffering inflicted under communism, then you are beyond help, hope or redemption. You also abused Ben Franklin's liberty v. safety quote. It is completely out of context here. Please stop embarrassing yourself. Your ignorance is making Ben spin in his grave:

But by far your stupidest comment is this one:
“...besides, you can't judge something from when it's practiced in a horrible way like the socialism in Russia or North Korea.”
Oh no? Why not? On what basis should we judge if not by what happens in practice? Don't you believe in the scientific method? What good is your “idealistic” utopia if it always falls apart in practice? (And by the way, only someone who is woefully unread and under-educated would consider "idealistic" to be a "new word".)
I have an idea, shammytard. Why don't you tell the families and survivors of the millions of North Koreans and tens of millions of Russians who died from starvation, firing squads or the gulag - “Ooops, sorry! Don't blame communism, some guys just didn't practice it right!” And lemme know how they respond, ok?
But perhaps you have a point, shammytard. If only the North Koreans had implemented communism correctly, then maybe today the South Koreans would be only 10 times wealthier, instead of 17 times.
