Selfie vs Pro

I agree. I'll take a selfie over pro pics any day. I've never seen a provider who look better than her professional / Photoshop pics. All a provider need to do is invest in some inexpensive studio lights if they are taking pics inside and a tripod if they don't have someone to take them. There is no need to waste money on Professional pics. Originally Posted by PrettyBoyG

I stand by my earlier point that hot women want to show off their hot bodies.

Not all that hot women look for ways to take 'strategic' selfies.... Originally Posted by Randall Creed

How many complaints, reviews, coed discussions are about the person not looking like their pics? Not the age, weight change ones, but the "her pics were hot, but she looked plain in person", "her photog airbrushed/photoshopped out the stretchmarks, blemishes", "the photog shot her at the right angles/lighting to hide her faults" ones?

Going to a professional shoot IS the strategic way to make yourself look better. A hot woman will look hot in a selfie, and hotter with a pro.

One last thing, what's a "strategic selfie"?

So, a one time shoot, maybe twice a year, really make a provider's 'expenses' go up? Oh, come on. At the very least, it's an INVESTMENT. It's an attempt to draw in more money.

If one photoshoot, costing anywhere say, from $3-500, brings in 5 new customers, you've already won. That's the idea. Yeah. It's called investing. You seem like a smart woman. I'm sure you're aware of the process.

When we spend money on you providers, it's NOT an investment. It's a splurge. Money gone, forever.

It's funny how you all want us guys to 'splurge' our money, but you providers don't even want to INVEST yours. We get called 'cheap bastards' for not wanting to throw away money...or at least throw away less.

Funny how that works.

Then again, the standards have dropped so low. Many of my detractors in this thread are the GUYS. They accept these selfies as gold. They aren't always happy about what they get, selfie or not. Hell, I have to defend the ladies in some threads. Even get called that 'W' word, occasionally.

What do I get for it. Bah.

Hey, why don't I use the upper body pic of my current self, but use a cropped pic of my 17 year old booty.

Come on, dude. Don't tell me that you've never been suckered in by selfies. Not even once?? Come ooon.

Yes, the same thing has happened with pro pics, too, but I'm inclined to think that pro pics would at least motivate a provider to maintain the physical part of the pics. The hair and makeup can be done as needed.

When a provider comes over from BP to here, she would want to elevate her game, to include the 'presentation' part of herself. But now, there's no elevation. There's no 'dress code' at the Eccie level, metaphorically speaking.

Eccie women as a whole should look hotter than BP ladies. But they don't. So, why are rates rapidly increasing when all the 'hot' chicks are on BP with their selfies??

Pro photos have been a great investment for me. I think it really comes down to the "type" of client a lady wants to attract via her marketing. There are definitely options for heavy Photoshop etc. Many of our eyes are trained to spot that now though. I opt to only blur my face in my pics as opposed to editing other areas of the photo. I can understand why some would like to see a recent selfie to show validity in the pro pics, etc. And, there are tons of ladies that have built a great business using selfies only. For me it is less time consuming and laborious to do mostly pro photos. The bottom line is that we ladies will not please everyone, but at the same time there is someone for everyone.

Right here is where I said I wasn't talking about dated pics, selfies or pro, so your 1st paragraph just restated my view.

No I've never been suckered in by selfies. I was suckered by pro pics, and contacted someone, but luckily she turned me down. Learned later that she didn't look like her pics. And her pro pics were HOT!

As I stated earlier, something must have happened to get you on the rant. It's gone from selfies vs pro, to plain women charging too much, to ECCIE = BP, to how hot ECCIE women should look. If you got burned by an overweight 35 y/o with selfie pics from when she was 20, I'm sorry.

I'm what most people would call an advanced amateur photographer. Which means I've actually made money with a camera but it's not my chosen career. Photographing women is an art, and a learned skill that takes lots of practice. I hate selfies. They scream bush league. Nothing sucks worse than a selfie with a basket of dirty laundry and a Taco Bell sack in the background...instant turn off.

On the other hand professional photos are often edited or air brushed and pose the TGTBT question in a clients mind. The best photos are taken by clients who know what they're doing with a camera, understand lighting, mood and posing with backgrounds, etc...especially if they're taken as part of an actual session.

Ok... the photographer, who wishes to trade half for sessions, made an observation and a bit of a rant from both a hobbyist and photographer's perspective.

Here's the dealio: We, the ladies, are incapable of pleasing all of you, the gents, all the time. We, the ladies, do the best we can with what we have and you, the gents, have many choices. Go with those that best suit your needs. There is someone here for everyone. Go get 'em, tiger!

EDIT: There are no rules one must follow concerning pics, so whatever makes one happy concerning those, is no one else's business, even if they have shared their "expert" opinion.

I'm of the firm belief that if you are charging north of $200 an hour, you should at least have SOME professional pics. Nothing wrong with a good mix of pro and selfie, but yeah-- I would think some elevation should be expected.

Mind you, when I say pro pics, I mean professional. Not a random hobbyist with a camera.

A 'random hobbyist with a camera' doesn't buy expensive photography equipment in the hopes of getting freebies. If he does, he'll NEVER get his money's worth. Example: $2,000 camera would require 20 'freebies' of $100 sessions, or 10 of the $200 variety. Not impossible, but it would take a lot of charisma to get that many 'free' appointments.

I'm not disagreeing with you, but just clarifying a bit. That, and, I'd rather not be known as a hobbyist with a camera, but as a photographer who happens to hobby.
In this world all men are hobbyists, hobbyists with a set tools (mechanic), hobbyist with lawn mower (lawn care), etc. You are a hobbyist with a camera. Never good to mix business and pleasure, it will blow up on you and she will not be happy either. These women get paid well to tolerate us while we do things to them they prefer us not to do. They get paid to ignore their own instincts and let us be with them. Now you want them to exchange services with you how slimy is that? Having sex with your model is unprofessional. All professional shoots have boyfriend or husband there and everything is about the shot. With you, women have to worry is he thinking how he wants to fuck or is this really best for shot. Where is your mind? Just unprofessional in my opinion. I NEVER swap services and I never have women I fucked as clients, just does not work. But if it works for you great!

I should have clarified.

When I say pro, I mean someone who derives a good bit of their living from photography. Hobbyist or otherwise. I personally will not trade time for pics, I'd just rather pay a person for their services to avoid any potential for drama or issues.
Selfies vs Pros

Here are my thoughts

I started with pro pics....it was aight, and I was a much BIGGER person....it was aight...

I hate selfies! However it's the realest type of pic you can do. I even hold a piece of paper with the date on it....latest on Mar 31....that is what makes selfies stand out....holding that paper with the date.

I'm not sure if I want to go back to professional pics.. I just don't. Sooooo many ladies have professional pics from years ago.....ago....ago....ten years....ago...hard to do that with dates selfies.

Ladies beggggg to have pro pics photoshopped. You can't shave off everything with selfies.

I have had a large amount of weight loss, selfies is what is best for me right now.

I will eventually go back to professional pics. Guys COMPLAIN about good professional pics. COMPLAIN about the photographer, and how they do work.

On another note, what's a provider with $500-$1000 professional pics and she can't suck dick, or provide a decent service.

PICTURES DOES NOT MAKE A PROVIDER.

I do have my heart set on working with Black Lotus photography. Her pics are $1000 and up...figured I would go big and go hard..work with the best.

Believe it or not, some of these women think it's beneath them to pay a man to do anything. Handing over 'their' money is just something they hate to do, and figure that letting you hit one time is the cheaper way of doing things. With these types, one has to make a point of note that cash is preferred, and that trading/bartering is the exception.

The reason actual payment is PREFERRED is because, well, photographers have to eat, too.

Pictures need to be adequately lit and low noise at a minimum, most "selfies" fail these two areas. As to those who think all well lit, composed and executed images are "photoshop" and not representative but that a selfie can't be "photoshoped" well, let us know how many ladies you see who are actually orange, blurry and speckled like their selfies.

As for those who assume all photo hobbiests ask for trade, the internet seems to have created a great many mind readers.

If a lady knows how to take a decent "selfie" that's fine, but it's still going to be a wide angle lens held way too close, and there simply isn't a way around that unless it's, horror of horrors, edited in Photoshop.
