Former SMU Law school dean arrested for prostitution

Read it last night. It's kind of inappropriate to discuss on here though is it not? Wouldn't you want the community to respect your privacy if you ever got arrested?

I could be wrong. I guess I just really feel sorry for him. Originally Posted by thathottnurse

But, the fact of the matter for a few members on this site is this..........they have to exploit and/or tell everyone of anyone else's downfall or tell other's they are wrong in their condescending posts to make themselves look good. So if you like to marinate in other's misery, or make it a goal to find fault with others, then that makes you the pathetic low life you are calling others.

This isn't just a megaphone site. We are all subject to feedback. To think otherwise is even more pathetic.

But back to the subject of this thread, in my first post above, I said I could be wrong and after some thought I probably was. The name of the game is Shame and of course they are going to shame this poor man. It's very sad but it's what is happening.

I don't think it's right to try and connect him to anyone here but it is a teachable moment to more high profile hobbyists to always be on their game.

Yes he should have chosen more carefully. Given the hour of the arrest I'm gonna guess alcohol and poor choices were involved. I bet the other 4 guys are thanking their lucky stars right now that they never sought huge successes in life or they'd be on the news too.

Actually, the other guys busted were unlucky. In the article I read touting the law dean's arrest it named the other guys (DMN I think). I bet their names would never have made it into the DMN if not associated with a locally famous person. So they are doubly screwed.

I consider them all innocent until proven guilty, but they have been judged and condemned by the news media already which is sad. It seems you have to be president of an international bank or something to be given a 'reasonable doubt' pass by the media for hobbying accursations.

I don't think hobbying should be illegal. Trafficking should be though. Targeting the 'demand' side of hobbying to get at trafficking is wrong headed IMO. Somebody enjoying the hobby doesn't know how the person got here. Just like I don't know how the guy who mows my lawn got here. (Though I think he is here legally.) Traffickers should be punished in Saudia courts. Sadly they usually receive no real punishment at all. Making this sting even sillier.

Why would a professor need to pay for sex? There are plenty of college students at SMU and the law school that could use a grade bumped up.

Was he arrested for Solicitation or for the act of Prostitution ?

You have to read between the lines of some of these threads including the titles so I was just wondering...
