I respect the military so much, I want to stop sending them off to die and get wounded in meaningless, undeclared wars, which are so often favored by their CIC.

What a pile of equivocating shit that's totally unworthy of your hard core right wing mental affliction. Did we have a hard night sleeping in our car last night? The HP police roust you before it was time to get up? Originally Posted by Randy4Candy

Barista of Highland Park, mine was first and it makes a lot more sense.

The golfer/caddy analogy sucks big time. It actually makes the opposite point, the caddies are paid less, have less access, and are very dispensable.

WTF, sure some people in the military, and some teachers, are goldbrickers and don't do their share, and they are on the government teat. But the ones who earn their pay deserve some respect for their contributions.
Some teachers do their very important job quite well, and make a positive impact on people's lives.

My point is were this say a football game. The fans/taxpayers would have paid for the stadium and all the uniforms the light bill everything, coach's salary , everything. The players are the one in combat. JD is like a waterboy/cheerleader. While part of the team, he seems to think he is just as important as the folks people actually pay to see.

Taxpayers do not fund stadiums for waterboys to play on. They do not fund them for cheerleaders to cheer on. They fund them for gladiators to fight on.

JD was basically a waterboy.Let's give credit where credit is due. To the fighting soldier.

Now if JD wants to thank all the hard working fans that have afforded him the job of waterboy, fine but he needs to quit trying to pawn himself off as an actual player just because he stripped down to his shorts and ran around in practice with them.

While they did this I was jogging alongside (but in running shoes and shorts), I ran my work center at peak performance, we did battle problems in the fireroom with the ventilation off (the temperature was 150 degrees) and full uniform.

According to your terms those Marines on my ship did nothing and deserve very little in the way of respect.

My God I worked in the refinery business where explosions killed my fellow workers....you don't see me trying to compare myself to combat veterans!

But my guess is that among Marines, there is an added amount of respect to those that have actually seen combat. That is not to demean the Marines that did not see combat. It was not their fault, they din't sign up for YMCA duty onboard a Navy Ship (like some).

Funny thing, I was told I may be coming to Texas the second week of June. Not solid yet but.... Originally Posted by JD Barleycorn

Look JD, nothing wrong with that. The team needs water boys just like they need paying folks in the stands to fund everything but you weren't playing in the game. Quit acting like you were.

The fishermen on , "The Deadliest Catch" have a more dangerous job than you did on board your ship. And they're fisherman!
